    handling seminar
I took Neo to a handling seminar this weekend. I figured if we want to win a Best in Breed at the National Specialty next year we need to up our game. It was freaking awesome! Joy and Vaughn are excellent instructors. It was all positive re-enforcement and food motivated training. Neo's posture is already way better, he doesnt wilt any more when I put him into a stack or when the judge touches him. We learned tons, who would have thought that showing is so involved. The main difference between a Best in Show dog and a dog that isnt placeing I would say is handling. I had no idea. This is a dog sport, most of the dogs that are winning are trained to look good. So there's hope for us. lol

There we only a few things that I didnt like too much. One it was WAY too crowed, especially on Sat. I think there was like 30 dogs there. So there wasnt allot of room to work. And two, it was all food motivated. It would be nice if they could talor their method a bit for dogs that are more toy motivated. Other then that though, it was just awesome. Im already thinking of going to the one in Feb.

    Cause I felt like it.
So the boyo and I broke up. Cant say that it wasnt a long time comming. I'll miss him a bit for sure. I'll definitly miss riding, thats going to be put on hold for a while I think. Gave him back the stallion. Hope that was the right thing to do. Really nice horse, but not 100% sound, I dont want to go through another 3 years of having a horse I cant ride, and not to mention not having any money for said 3 years. I really want to pay my credit cards off. Visa is going down very soon. Mastercard however is slightly more formitable but I shall preval. So alas a horse doesnt really fit into things right now. You can bet if I somehow come into extra cash'ola that will be the first thing on my list but untill the credit cards are paid and I have a better paying job its just going to have to wait. ( If I can stand it that is)

On the up side, Im throughly enjoying Neo. That is when he and Ty arent stealing my dinner off the counter. >.<; little bastards! lol I have a bunch of events planned for October and next year. (The girls at work arent helping at all. "Your going to this right?"  "Oh dont worry she's going." ) First of all, I decided to try and get Grand Champion on Neo. For this he needs his championship, which he'll hopefully get at the Port Alberni dog show. 4 points! (last show on the island for this year) Then he needs to get either a Best in Breed at a National specialty or a Best in Show. Now since Mal's arent a hugely popular dog, Best in Show is prolly not going to happen. Best in Breed however..... Well we're going for that one. Gotta piss off all of the Terv's and Gron's owners. So for this Im taking a handleing semiar which was reccomended to by a Mary Louis who breeds and shows Aussies. Need to up our game so we can kick ass. LOL

So October is going to be busy.

Oct 3rd and 4th - Handling Seminar in Nanoose.
    Oct 16, 17, 18 - Port Alberni Dog show
Oct 29 - Herding Specialty at Tradex
Oct 29 to 31 - Dog show at Tradex (not sure if I'll go to the whole thing. Prolly be fun though)

Then no more dog shows for me!! Becuase I'll never get my credit card paid off...... atleast that is untill the national specialty in April!!

    April 1 to 4 - in Cloverdale.

Depending on how he does in this one we'll either go on to try and get our 100 points or start doing something else. lol I'd really like to get it, but we're in this for the fun of it. Not the end of the world if we dont get it.

June 12-14th - Agility Regionals!!! You can bet we're going to this!

And some time later the Nationals are being held in Calgary. Which of course we're going to try like hell to quallify for.

Other then that I think Im going to finally get off my ass and go for that Animal health Tech degree. I want to go to the school in Alberta since they do large animals as well. But I need to get Chem 12 >.<; so I'll do that in the spring. Nice that their application deadline isnt untill August so there's enough time. (that and the damn chem 12 course isnt offered untill the spring :P) So thats my plan for now.... though still really wanting to do a working student position somewhere..... Im sure Ill fit it in somehow.

And I think thats all for now. Be warned, I think my firefox spell checker crapped out after the first paragraph so consider yourself warned...... this should probably be at the top of the post really..... meh. lol

Well I feel much better now. <3 journal

    Car
Well my poor Car Car finally crapped out. Mom and I were heading to Duncan to do some shopping yesterday. There was a HUGE accident on the highway and we got stuck in a bunch of really slow moving traffic. The radiator was already on its last legs from the denting incident in the ditch last winter..... so sitting in the heat while running tipped it over the edge. Big puff of white smoke, we pulled over and turned it off, let it cool, but when we went to put water back in it just poured out the bottom. :(

So now he's finally going to the wrecker. Hopefully any how. Its at the tow truck lot in Ladysmith because everything was closed on the weekend. The guy is supposed to call me tomorrow.

All in all rest in peace car. You were an awesome car. <3

    God Damnit!
    So long story short.

Got a ticket from a dick head of a cop saying that I need to go have my car inspected. Poor thing lost its drivers side mirror when it got pulled out of a gigantor ditch when in snowed in the winter. (that sucked)  Any how my car car is getting a bit old, and bits are starting to fall off. I took it to my mechanic to have the thing looked over. He said that I would have to put 500 into it and then it still might not pass if they see some stuff or if I get the wrong guy. So thanks to Mr butt head I have to go car shopping,

On the up side (the very small upside) I found a really cute VW Bug. Havent decided yet and Im still looking around, but I love it. Its SO damn cute and its even blue. It has a hatch back and the back seats fold down flat so there's even room for Neo. Now the other car that I love is 16 grand.(new) :( Thats the Honda Fit. I would love to have one of those mainly becuase they are so reliable and apparently they very rarely need to see a mechanic. And they go FOREVER on a tank of gas. But I dont think thats going to happen. Tempting though....

Other then that Im too busy and too tired. Im going to try and drop some stuff or re schedual things better. Busy is good but this busy is just too much.

because I needed more things to do. :P
Apparently it is illegal to drive with out a drivers side mirror. (mine was ripped off by the tow truck pulled my car out of the ditch last winter. Dont ask >.<;.... stupid snow.) Apparently Im also supposed to have a front plate on. (Also ripped off in the ditch) Well I sure as hell wish that the insurance inspector or my mechanic had mentioned this because I would have duct tapped the damn things on. So now I have to fix it "immediately" and have it inspected with in 30 days. What a fucking pain in the ass. So I might be getting a new car sooner then I had planned. I dont know how much inspections are or if my poor car car will even pass one. The plan was to drive this one untill it crapped out. (Which really should have been months ago. I love my car <3) Well at least I didnt get a ticket. But damn I wish I had some duct tape in the back. In which case the conversation would have been.

"Oh? really I had no idea it's illegal to drive with our a driver side mirror. Hang on a sec, i'll fix that right now. Oh? whats that? front plate too? Okay no problem."

Very few problems cant be solved by duct tape!

Alas Im rather annoyed. Stupid dick head cop. :P

    Grosest day EVAR!
It started off fine. If I wanted to be really picky I would mention the filthy lab I had to wash two times at work. But thats no biggy it happens often. It really began when I get to my bf's puppy Cronus had found a kid diaper and ripped appart spreading it all over the lawn. Okay fine, its not the first time. Bf can be a little dense about leaving things out that puppy likes to rip apart. Number two, I decide to clean Rembrandt's sheath (if your not a horse person, Rembrandt is a boy. Use your imagination.) It is horribly dirty, I dont think its been done in 2 years atleast. Its supposed to be done every 6 months. The smell was just damn nasty, and you dont even want to see the stuff that came out of there....... Shall I give you more? I walk around the yard picking up the diaper bits and find a reasonably fresh dead rabbit. (so thats why Neo wanted to be in the front yard) It had a nice sum of maggots in it. >.<; Dispose of all of the groseness and go scrub the crap out of my hands, realise I forgot my phone in the barn. Head out to the barn to get phone........ and a bird had pooped on it! ROFL

I dare anyone to beat that. lol

A few things I forgot and a few new things
On the way to Barstow, we saw a falling metor. In Vegas I shot a WWII Grease Gun.

We went to Magic Mountain yesterday. That was excillent. The roller coasters were insane, I loved it. Could have done it all night easy. The line ups were only really bad on a few. If you go spend the extra 30 bucks and get the flash pass. Then you can bypass the lines.

On the way back now. All in all one of the best trips I've ever been on.

The only drag is that Ty isnt feeling well. Mom took him to the vet on friday. I didnt hear anything from her yesterday so, either she doesnt know anything yet or its not good and she doesnt want to tell me. I'll call her when we get back to Canada.

    LA saga cont.
After driving up through Malibu and missing the custom guys by like an hour we decide to drive up to the dealership to hopefully see the Hummer and  of course is the wrong dealer. (men and planning... >.<;) Anyhow we deiced to keep going and hit Death Valley. We start to head into the park and find a dirt road going up a large hill. Okay we have a 4x4 so we head up it and do a little off roading so we can get some cool pics......... aaaaaannnnnnddddd we pop a tire. >.<; out in the middle of no where. Luckily we have a spare and were able to boot it back down the hill to a flat spot before the tire got too low. First tire change evar!! We head back into town and get it fixed right away which was nice. Since its getting late in the day we decide to head up to Vegas or get as far as we can. We end up stoping at a little camp ground in Barstow (I could be a little off on the name) Anyhow I let the man bring the tent. NEVER let the man bring the tent. He pulls out this little 2 man (which really means one man) tent, you cant even sit up in the damn thing. It was a bit of a cold windy night but all went well other then the tiny tent. lol

We head up to Vegas. OMG very cool. Way better than NY I would have loved to spend a few days there. I highly reccomend going. I definitly want to go back sometime. And Im not into gambling. We went to see Chirs Angle at he Luxor (which is the giant piramid thing) it was a really good show,  though not as good as I thought it would be. The theatrics were amasing, done by Cirque du Solie so I wouldnt expect any less. But Chris didnt really do that many amasing magic tricks. Mostly just repeats from his show and they werent as impressive because in his show he usually does them outside where there is no way he could be using a wire ect. I still really enjoyed it and Chirs Angle is on the VERY small list of celebrities that I would actually like to see in person. We didnt end up going to Oakenfold because we didnt have time and he was on the other side of the city. Kind of a drag but Im really happy I got to see Chris. I can d-load Oakenfold.

Then the next day, up to Death Valley. And may I say WOW! I expected a valley with a few tumble weeds and a skull or two. Not the case. First we head into a canyon type area, walk up to a veiw point and have a huge veiw of desolate mountains with a salt flat infront. We head onward and drive across the Salt flats to an area with shrubery and there is a creek! yes actual water! the temp is about 90F even better the water actually has little tiny fish that live in it!  We head on to the devils corn feild which is a bunch of catus/palm tree like plants up on little mounds. Onwards from there we find some sand dunes, then head up into another canyon. After that into a mountainy pass and out. This short paragraph of course doesnt do any of it justice. The place is insane. I want to head back there sometime and explore more. The secenery and plant life change incredibly fast in a really short period of time. The temps range from 70 - 100F in this time of the year and they change just as fast as the plant life does. I mean we went from literally no plant life at all to trees! The area has a TON of old mines mainly silver and gold but also borax and some other ores. And with the mines it has some ghost towns too!. Just outside the park we talked with an old gold minner (at a ghost town. lol) who got kicked out of his mine becuase the park expanded. He was a little senile but really nice, his name was George. The last thing I have to say about death valley is GO!!!

Now we're headed to Santa Carlita. The man has some business and we're going to try and see the Hummer again. Then with any luck we'll head to Magic Mountain for some serious Rollercoaster rides! >:)

Im really sorry about the grammar and spelling in this post. I know its horrible, I only hop the damn thing makes some sense, Im sooooo tired and Im surprised I got this far, but I didnt want to forget anything....

so with out further adue *thud* mmmmmrrrrrrr..........sleep now.

    AHHh!
    Okay first of all, the flight is booked, took time off work, everything is ready........except the Hummer we're suposed to be picking up. >.<;

So we still decide to go. We'll go look at the vehicle, and then go see Paul Oakenfold and Chris Angle's Believe in Vegas.

We arrive at the airport 45 min before the flight and get told that we cant get on the damn plane because our luggage wont make it through customs in time. >.<; WTF!? I got on the plane home from England 20 min before it took off and there was no problem! Anyhow okay we'll take the later flight.

Get there, have to wait like 1/2 an hour for our rental car shuttle.

Richard's Rogers phone apparently doesnt like LA and cant find a network. Even though he told them he was comming here and they said everything would be fine. He needs his phone for business, not to mention that he's in the US ALLOT.

Miss the car place being open by like half an hour.

And now we're sitting at a coffee place getting ready to call and bitch out Rogers.

One good thing, we did drive through Malibu and that was pritty neat. Fancy houses ect.

I dont think one thing has gone right this trip! lol Other then that everything is going really well.

    Ill keep you posted

    Woo! happy B-day Lj
I hope to keep this journal for a long time. Though I really should write more often. So what the hell here we go:

Rembrandt is being a bit of a dork. He's been pulling again, which annoys me to no end. Im at the point where I need to start taking lessons again to see what Im doing wrong and what we need to work on. I cant really do much more on my own right now. I wore spurs today, it helped a little. I think I need to put a flash on him..... but I'd rather avoid it if I can.

    Movies:

Wolverene I quite enjoyed..... thought there were a number of things that didnt quite fit.

Star Trek: We saw it tonight. OMG they did an awesome job! I admit I was a bit worried when I found out they were making one based off the original. But they did an AWESOME job casting it and the story was good too. I was impressed, I think i'll buy it when it comes out on DVD.

Boyfirend bought a freaking Hummer. >.<; ....Men.... We're going down to LA to pick it up at the beinnging of the month. Should be an interesting trip to say the least.

I still WoW, though Im not so crazy about the turn the game is taking. Dont get me wrong I LOVE the new zones and instances but it seems that there is little to no stratigy left to it. All of the dungons now are all tank and spank. There is no more difficult pulls or sheeping or hunter pulls. Believe me I dont like dieing a million times, but Im getting rather tired of PUGing groups, running an instance in an hour with people that have no skill, but yet somehow we still live? Further more all the classes are being mashed into one giant DPS class. All of the classes can DPS extreamly well now. So there isnt much point of playing a mage if EVERYONE can either out DPS me or do it just as well. Why the hell then am I not playing a priest (which I've started playing Braiya again) or something that I can actually dual spec? Mages get fucked over.

Neo is doing well. I've put off showing for a bit or atleast untill his chest fills out. We might do one day at the NKC show to support the club..... or maybe even try the Pre-Novice obeidiance and CGN test. Havent decided yet.

I do appologise for any weird spelling errors, it seems that my firefox spelling thing decided to stop working about half way through this post and I dont like the lj spell checker.

All in all hope some of you out there still read lj. It'll be awfully lonely otherwise. ;)

    Mini work vent
Okay people, guess what? Not EVERYONE likes babies. I find them rather icky, gross, drooly sticky, stinky and noisy. Which in my books is far from cute. So dont prop your baby up on the counter and wiggle it around expecting me to make stupid noises at it or comment on how cute it is. For gods sake leave it in the buggy. You need to pay and leave. Not be proud of or try to show off something that nearly every human being can do with little knowledge.

Older well behaved, polite children I like...... for short periods of time. The ones that scream and run around not so much, especially in a store with lots of breakable shit. Their parents deserve to be drop kicked out a window.

I do not get peoples fasination with babies at all.

cause I havent posted in a while.
Rin and I went to a Dog show for Easter weekend. It was pretty fun. We took Neo, unfortunately got our asses handed to us. Del our show handling instructor was there and she said that Neo was moving weird infront again. The other belgian people were also there and said the same thing and that he wasnt doing that last month (at the last show). Everyone said that he should grow out of it. Im slightly worried that he wont. In which case he wont get his confirmation championship and I wont breed him. That would really suck, but I did mainly buy him for an agility dog so its not the end of the world. Im probably just being paranoid, Anyhow we still had a fun weekend. He showed fairly well. The sweepstakes judge gave us some pointers, she took a good long look at him too and I think that she wanted to place him. So we'll try again next month and see how things go.

As a side note if you see some one advertiseing "Just minuets from the show grounds" ask them what exactly they mean by "minuets". The hotel that I had booked from an add in the premium list for the dog show turned out to be freaking 45 minuets away!! Needless to say I was NOT impressed. Luckily they were really good about it and cancled our reservation without charging us. And even more lucky was that the Best Western right across the road had one room left and it was even a decent price.

On the way back we arrived right in time for brunch with Rina's relatives. It was very tasty! :) Then headed home for some much needed relaxing and movie watching. Neo was even pretty good with the two boys, only tried to squish them once or twice. Earl had fun chasing Neo who was chasing his ball. When Neo brought the ball back Earl would grab one of his little balls and bring it back. It was really cute.

I rode Rembrant yesterday and he was freaking amasing. Its like everything we've been working on the last few weeks clicked. I asked him for a trot preparing to get my arms pulled off as per usual and he went into a beautiful blanaced nice trot. And he did that for the whole ride! I think we finially have a communication system in place. I think the 4 days off did him some good too. Im really enjoying him. He's been a bit of a challenge and I am slightly intimidated by him because he is a stallion (but I cant show it around him. lol) Now I think we're finally getting a relationship together. He's really kind of cool, and Im learning a fair bit from him. I learned that walk work is actually important and that I need to keep his brain occupied. He's not like a normal horse, he knows EVERYTHING thats going on around him. Which is okay, but not so good when he gets too distracted by it. Then he jumps around and trys to kill me which isnt so fun. And he can jump really high strait up! lol Thats what the AF mane hand hold is for though. Anyhow I was going to ride him today, but work was brutal and I was too tired. I think Im still recovering from the weekend. Need a day for sleepings.

And I think thats about if for now. I need sleeps, but I drank pepsi......... damnit >.<; I do know better...

    go go Neo?
Neo rocked agility class last night. Man is he going to be fast. Hell, he already is fast, but a little but silly still. lol The only thing he doesnt do yet are the weave poles and thats just because I havent gotten off my lasy ass and practiced them at home. I think we'll do a bit today after I clean the damn car. He's a really fun little dog. I wish I had done this sooner. My plans for him are to put as many titles on him as I can and just plain have fun. If he does well great, and if not a what the hell we''ll try again. Dont get me wrong we go to win, but I've competed too much to be one of those people that freaks out if they loose. I dont know if I'll ever breed him, i think I'd only consider breeding him if he had a ton of titles and ended up being a really great dog.

Anyhow with any luck we'll do regonials next year. Utlitmit goal is to see if we can get on the worlds team. But thats far off, he's still just a puppy. I think getting on the worlds team is a bit politcal too, we'd definitly have to place at nationals, Im not sure how many times..... *ponder* A well figure it out when we're closer to that goal. And first there's a few peoples asses that I'd like to kick.... *evil chuckle* But all in good time. Like I said we're going to have fun first, everything else is second and doesnt really matter.

Im still riding a little. The horse that Im working with isnt 100% sound. So its kind of an on again off again thing. Which right now is fine with me. Im thourghly annoyed with the horse world. There's a million different clubs and organisations you have to join just to compete, then there are RETARDED show fees. I dont mind paying for classes but they have some really stupid ones tacked on. And then there's the gossip horse people are horrible for spreading it. All in all I think I've had enough of the horse world untill I can pay my credit cards off. Then I might consider going somewhere to ride again, but untill then I think horse stuff is going to be on the back burrner for a while.

Well thats it for now. Time to find some sort of food and tackle my car.

The Association Meme: Comment to this post and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given.

    This ones from[info]dragonette

    1. Horses - Well if any of you know me this will come as no surprise! I've been obsessed with horses for a good number of years now. Many-a-times have I posted long rant and/or info sessions on Lj about them or training.

    2. Swimming - <3 swimming! I've been swimming for as long as I can remember. Rin, Ang and I used to spend entire days at the local pool! Meeper eyes!!

    3. Road Trips - hehehe our infamous road trips. So far we havent managed to kill ourselfs, though its come close a few times. "EEEWWW DAMNIT I got coffee all over my arm!"
    "BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!....."
"AH! ROAD!" and we swerve around a corner

    Or how about at Ang's

"Man I think we put too much air in the matrise its freaking hard!"
    "ugh, I think your right."
"Maybe we just let a bit out?"
"umm..... no I dont think we can..."
"Well there's a vent here maybe if I just..."
    "no!"
    PUSHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
after histaric laughter and no more air in the matrise.

    Then there's the motel room that we got a really good deal on, with the killer nice beds...... and the train right behind it that comes by at 6 in the morning! >.<;

    4. All Nighters
Ahhh..... the good ol' days. Either rping or consul gaming. D&D had to be the most famous. I think we finished the entire game in like 3 days or something. The damn squid mostor thing at the end left us speachless. Especially after 0 hours of sleep.

    5. Battle Tetris!

    We kicked so much butt!!
Im being a little lasy, this was a letter to my breeder:

I took Neo to a Dog Show this Saturday. My boyfriend had to go to the states so I figured what the hell I'll do a one day entry at the show, its right by the boarder anyhow.

There were 10 Belgians entered. We were the only Mal, and we TOTALLY kicked butt!! Best of Winners, Best Puppy of Breed, Best Puppy of Group!! We went to Best Puppy in Show, but the judge didnt really look at us. :( A Dashcund won. Im still in shock that we did that well. I mean I thought we'd do alright but I never expected to get best of group and go on to Best Puppy in Show.

The Belgian people were really nice too, there was one lady there helping us out all the time, telling me when we were supposed to go in and such. (Im still new at this lol) The other lady told me where to brush him up on his shoulder so his elbow didnt stick out as much. Almost all of them came to watch him in Best Puppy in Show. And then they were all upset that I was only going to be there for one day. lol It was really great support.

It was a bit of a long day, but totally worth it! (we left on the 5:15 ferry and got back at 12:30 in the evening) Ill send pics as soon as I get them.
